Terms of Service

Effective date: July 24, 2026
Last updated: July 24, 2026

Please read these Terms of Service before using Curse. By selecting agreement in the app or using Curse, you agree to these Terms and the Privacy Policy.

1. The Curse service

Curse is an on-device pet community experience. It lets you create a profile and pet profiles, record or select video moments, browse pet content, like and bookmark moments, comment, follow profiles, report content, block users, and manage locally stored app data. Optional virtual coins can be purchased through Apple In-App Purchase and used for the app's simulated Boost feature.

Curse does not provide pet sales, adoption matching, location tracking, payment transfers between users, or professional veterinary advice. The current version stores app-created community data locally and does not provide cross-device account or content synchronization.

2. Eligibility and agreement

You must be at least 13 years old, or the minimum age required in your country to consent to use an app like Curse. If you are not old enough to agree on your own, a parent or legal guardian must review and accept these Terms for you. Do not use Curse if applicable law prohibits you from doing so.

3. Your local profile and device

The current login is a local app state and is not a server-backed identity account. You are responsible for protecting access to your device. Actions taken through the app on your device are treated as your actions.

You may log out while keeping local data on the device. The Delete Account option removes Curse-managed local profile data, pets, moments, comments, media, and preferences from that device. Uninstalling the app may also remove local data. Curse cannot recover local data after it is deleted.

4. Your content

You retain any rights you have in photos, videos, text, and other content you create or select. You must have permission to use every person, animal, image, video, sound, and other protected material included in your content.

You grant Curse only the limited device-level permission needed to process, display, resize, generate a cover for, filter, and store your content so the app's features can work. Because the current version does not upload your created content to a Curse-operated server, this permission does not authorize Curse to publish it outside your device.

5. Community standards

Zero tolerance: Curse has zero tolerance for objectionable content and abusive users. Prohibited behavior may result in content being blocked or removed from the local experience and may result in loss of access where enforcement is technically available.

You may not create, select, or use content that:

Do not use Curse to sell animals, arrange adoptions, solicit payments from users, or present unqualified medical advice as professional veterinary care.

6. Content filtering, reports, and blocking

Curse applies an on-device text filter to comments, moment titles, moment descriptions, and profile bios before saving them. You agree not to evade or defeat this filter.

The app includes report and block controls. Blocking hides the selected account and its moments from your local experience. In the current version, report choices are stored locally and are not submitted to a Curse-operated moderation server. For a support or safety concern that requires a response, email support@curse.com. For an emergency, contact the appropriate local authority.

7. Virtual coins and Apple In-App Purchase

Curse may offer virtual coins through Apple In-App Purchase. Purchases are processed by Apple and are also subject to Apple's applicable terms. Prices and availability appear in the App Store purchase interface before you confirm a transaction.

8. Boost

Boost consumes the selected number of virtual coins immediately and records a simulated promotional action locally. Any displayed view-uplift estimate is for reference only, depends on content and timing, and is not a promise or guarantee of actual views, engagement, reach, followers, or other results.

9. App permissions

Camera, microphone, and photo library access are optional and are requested only when you choose a related media feature. You may change permissions in iOS Settings. A feature may be unavailable when its required permission is denied.

10. Ownership of the app

Curse, including its software, interface, design, branding, and included assets, is protected by applicable intellectual property laws. These Terms grant you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the app for its intended purpose. You may not copy, sell, sublicense, reverse engineer where prohibited, or commercially exploit the app.

11. Availability and changes

We may fix, update, change, suspend, or discontinue features. We do not guarantee that Curse will always be available, error-free, or compatible with every device or future iOS version. We will not intentionally remove purchased coin value solely by setting an expiration date.

12. Disclaimers

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Curse is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, uninterrupted availability, or guaranteed results. Pet-related content in Curse is for general community enjoyment and is not veterinary, medical, legal, or other professional advice. Always consult a qualified veterinarian about an animal's health or safety.

13. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Curse and its operators will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, loss of local content, loss of virtual items caused by deletion of local app data, or reliance on Boost estimates. Nothing in these Terms excludes rights or liability that cannot legally be excluded.

14. Suspension and termination

You may stop using Curse at any time. We may restrict access to the app or particular features if necessary to protect users, animals, the app, or legal rights, or if you materially violate these Terms. Local deletion controls remain available while the relevant app interface is accessible.

15. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms when features, laws, or app practices change. Updated Terms will include a new effective date. Where required, we will ask you to review and accept material changes before continuing to use the app.

16. Contact
